A word from the artist :

“The most well-known environmental protection slogan in China is: green water and green mountains are golden mountains and silver mountains. A series of modernization measures in China have made the Chinese people take a big step towards urbanization, and many farmers and mountain people have lost their original living environment and living habits. Due to excessive urbanization and industrialization, the environmental governance capacity cannot keep up, resulting in piles of garbage in many places in China, and the loss of green water and green mountains in Chinese history. This work is based on traditional domestic landscape paintings with green and green subjects (Chinese landscape paintings contain ancient wooden buildings. ), combined with French artists Monet, Paul and Van Gogh’s brushwork, it reflects the concept of Chinese landscape urban city, calls on people to return to nature, live in harmony with nature, and create a landscape city that meets the Chinese people’s intentions and caters to the theme of people and the environment.”

About the IDEARTS

Art can be defined in a thousand different manners. In today’s world, it is increasingly regarded as a way to learn and share about sustainability and green technologies; as a lever to raise awareness on climate change and throw light on workarounds for global warming; as a means to better understand the problematics of our times and the prospects for our future.

For its very first edition, Vadviam’s IDEARTS programme has invited Architecture and Landscape Architecture students from renowned Shanghai Jiao Tong School of Design to create artworks intended to illustrate environmental issues and offer solutions for global sustainability.
