“Birds in the forest”

A word from the artist :

“The forest not only refers to the place where the animals lived, but also symbolizes the current concrete forest—the city. The flying bird is an image selected in the work, which is used to refer to various creatures. When the vegetation is covered by cement and the trees are replaced by tall buildings, where will the birds go? We need to know that the urban living space is not only the living space of human beings, but the living environment is also closely related to the survival of other creatures. We need to recreate a piece of “green” for the birds to survive. Thus, humans in the city and birds in the “forest” can share a piece of blue sky.”

About the IDEARTS

Art can be defined in a thousand different manners. In today’s world, it is increasingly regarded as a way to learn and share about sustainability and green technologies; as a lever to raise awareness on climate change and throw light on workarounds for global warming; as a means to better understand the problematics of our times and the prospects for our future.

For its very first edition, Vadviam’s IDEARTS programme has invited Architecture and Landscape Architecture students from renowned Shanghai Jiao Tong School of Design to create artworks intended to illustrate environmental issues and offer solutions for global sustainability.
